What I Wore - 8/6/11

Apologies for not posting for a few days! I went to Nottingham on Wednesday and came back yesterday. I mentioned a post or two back that I was going to see The Pierces, and that's what I done on Wednesday evening.
They were amazing (!!) As were their two supporting acts; Alice gold & Delta Maid - And I will, for sure, be posting about them on my music blog in the next few days.

However, over here on my fashion/style/personal... everything else blog, I'm of course going to blog about my outfit and my day!
I spent just over 2 hours travelling - one bus, two trains & one taxi. In that order!
And when I got off my first train it was very sunny & pretty warm! I was impressed. However, while going through various places on my second train - there was no sun. I was pretty concerned considering I was going to be standing in a queue with a white dress on, later on.
The wonderful British weather came into full force while I was in the taxi to my hotel - It hailed. Hard.
So my outfit didn't go to plan, I wasn't into risking getting so cold I go home ill, so I put my jeans on instead of the tights. Also, I put my jacket on over the dress - for two reasons: I forgot my vest top to wear underneath because the dress is relatively see-through (boo!) & also, it was cold.

Obviously, again, my outfit photos aren't up to much. And the quality isn't so good this time as the lighting was different. I took them in my hotel room. Haha! I hope you like them anyway.

Dress - New Look
(faux) Leather Jacket - Internacionale
Jeans -  Internacionale
Oxfords - Primark
Flower Clip - Claire's

I also apologize for the state of my hand... I blame the weather.

I had a wonderful Wednesday, I hope you did too. I now have a lot to catch up on!
Happy Friday!
P.S - I took a lot of photos at the show on Wednesday and you can see them on my Flickr!

Preparing for The Pierces.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
The Pierces / {Source}

I was originally going to do this blog entry for my music blog... but then I realized I'm just going on about my outfit so it would be better suited here!

I tend to do a fair amount of preparation for most gigs I go to (if you didn't know, I go to a lot of gigs) - admittedly most of that preparation is my outfit.
In a weeks time I'm going to see The Pierces and a lot of my preparations are of course, my outfit.
My gig outfits are usually based on something about the singer/band I'm going to see or sometimes the style/genre.
I have a white based, kind of flowy outfit planned. With lace and flowers. I don't really wear dresses that much, mainly because I never find or imagine any dresses that would suit me. But anyway, back to the outfit, I guess it's based around their style and their music. Very soft, flowy, and boho-like.
I took some photos a few days ago:

Also; Lace tights!

I also bought a flower crown, but I'm not sure if to wear that or the flower clip.
The dress is the one I wore when I moved, you can see it properly in the outfit post I done.
I'm literally in love with the little wrist... things - I clearly have no idea what they're actually called, feel free to let me know, haha! - They're just so pretty (!!) & I've been meaning to buy lace tights for a while but haven't 'til now. I love them!
As for the shoes, I wasn't meant to be buying any more shoes. (...like that was actually gonna happen though) but they are oxfords (my favourite)! And they were in the sale for £8... EIGHT?!

I will be doing a proper outfit post after the gig, but I just wanted to share what I will wearing!

P.S - Happy June!

I Was Screaming Long Live... (quite literally).

Having calmed down and grasped that yesterday actually happened and I wasn't dreaming (...again) today's blog post is - inevitably - about Taylor Swift & her Manchester concert yesterday.
It was magical beyond words. But I already knew it would be.

It was superr sunny and warm on the day which I was truly grateful for. Because I had an hour wait for my train. Waiting for a train in the sunshine is pretty awesome ♥

(On my way! - Train window view.)

I firstly caught a bus (40 minutes - to the train station) and then a train (3hrs40mins) and FINALLY arrived in Manchester a few minutes late. (boo!)
I was so glad to be there, despite that though. My excitement was out-ran by my needing to rush - I needed to check into my hotel before going to the arena and I was already a little late - But if I wasn't running late enough already, when I was checking into the hotel, the woman's computer crashed for like 20 minutes.
When I finally checked in, I literally chucked everything into the room, reapplied my make-up, put on 13 glow bracelets, my t-shirt and purple ribbon and headed to the arena.
I forgot to paint a 13 on my hand (big, bigg fail) and I also forgot my speak now wristband (more fails).

(T-shirt, ticket, purple ribbon - for the TC purple ribbon project)

(The arena Pre-Taylor madness)

I missed out on the Fearless tour, because my life was literally very different then, I would've loved to go but that can't change now. I'm so glad I got to go to the Speak Now World tour ♥
It was magical in every way.
I didn't have a lot of money on me (...all my money went on travel & accommodation) but I knew I HAD to buy at least a t-shirt from the merch stand and so that's what I did. (I don't have a picture of it... yet)
It's currently my favorite thing. Because it reminds me of everything about that day.

All the photos I took (...remembering I was in block 107. So I wasn't very near at all. Until she came onto the 2nd/mini stage) are on my Flickr here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/skyebloopink/sets/72157625918322736/
:]

I feel as though I need to sleep for about a week now... Haha.
Completely worth it in every way possible though.

Preparing to Speak Now.

[Note: I haven't blogged in forever, even though I said I would, sorry about that.]

So, it's just two weeks 'til I head off to Manchester to see Taylor Swift - I would go into why & how much this means to me, but I wouldn't know where to begin... or stop :P
I wanted to blog and so I figured I'd blog about this and tell you what I'm doing/how I'm doing it - It's probably more interesting to swifties, but anyway.

Let's start at the beginning:
I'm getting a train to Manchester (oxford road) in the morning that takes just under 4 hours (...I guess it's good I like travelling) I should get in at 3:40 and then I'm getting a taxi (because, I'm not, I repeat, not, getting lost) to my hotel and checking in.
At 4:00/4:30 I'm heading down to Victoria station to meet some swifties (yay!) :D And to paint faces and such.
(Warning: If you are a swiftie, there is a 95% chance I will hug you. Just saying.)

I took some photos earlier of my 'speak now bag' that was formally called my 'gig' bag but couldn't resist re-naming it.
It has all the stuff I'm taking with me to Victoria station/The arena.

This is the actual bag. It's more of a mini bag. And it's SO sparkly (!!)
which is always awesome.

The inside is very purple themed.

The contents! - Face paint, UV face paint, My 'speak now' wristband,
eyeliner 'pen', green & purple liquid eyeliner & my purple bow for the
purple ribbon project.

I'm painting a '13' on my hand in purple and green with a black outline and with face paint I'm doing a heart with 'TS' in it on one cheek and 'speak now' on the other.
And I'm planning on wearing a purple t-shirt that says 'Be Fearless and Speak Now' in silver glitter.
And on the back it has my Taylor Connect username. :D
This is the plan anyway.

For anyone that's reading this and actually going to the show (Manchester 29/03/11) I'm in block 107 so let me know if you're anywhere near :] or even if you're just going!

Recent Adventures - The Weekend

Recent Adventures ~

Hellooo! I promised to re-start blogging today. So I figured I'd start with an update.
I spent the weekend in Nottingham, but before the weekend arrived I was still in 'secret project mode' - When I start a new project I tend to not tell anyone (And I literally mean no one...) anything at all. I'm very ambitious, but constantly living in fear of talking about something and it not working out. And so I choose to tell people about it when it's done and when I know everything's worked out.
And so my life is currently all about this one project. Like, all my time is being put into this. Which is why posting may occasionally fall a little slow (I'm sorry if that happens) and I keep disappearing for a few days on social networking sites.
So, that's just so you know if I disappear. No worries, I'm just in 'Secret Project HQ' :')

So anyway. I headed off to Nottingham on Saturday to see My Chemical Romance - Possibly my favourite band, and one of the few bands/singers that managed to help me through a lot of bad times.
I can't put into words my level of excitement about seeing them, being in the same room as them, or even the show itself.
It took me a while to calm down. And realize it had actually happened and this wasn't just one of my frequent mad dreams.
I took some photos, they aren't the best because my camera is rapidly going downhill :[

Sunday was uneventful as ever. I was Nottingham bound though, which was slightly different. I was Nottingham bound because I couldn't get all the way home on a Sunday due to shit public transport. So I literally spent the day in a hotel room watching tv, eating unhealthy food and laying around with my laptop.
It was pretty cool though.

Possibly the greatest Saturday of my life.... (followed by the laziest Sunday of my life).
I'm still catching up on sleep :| I'm incredibly tired.
Buuut, I have a lot of things to do. Including catching up with over 200 unread blog posts. My project. And blogging.

It's time to play catch up!
Happy Tuesday ♥
